Due to the situation we are currently in, Animateka 2020 will be between 30.11. and 9/12/2020 took place online, but this does not mean that the program will be curtailed, as it is also diverse and high-quality this year and includes 338 short films and 9 feature films.
On the online part of the festival Animateka 2020 you will be able to watch 7 feature films and 252 short animated films. Other films will be shown in cinemas when the situation permits.
In the Animated documentaries section this year, there will be two programs of short and as many as three full-length documentary animated films that touch diverse socio-political topics. Among the colorful selection of this year's full-length animated films, the winner of the grand prize at the Ottawa Animation Film Festival, the film by Polish director Mariusz Wilczyński, will be shown Kill it and leave this place, about which the director himself will tell more at a lecture as part of this year's AnimatekaPRO.
In cooperation with the Kurja Polt genre film festival, among the full-length animated films, they present an animated road trip bizarre for all generations Old milkman by Oskar Lehemaaj and Mikko Mägi. Special focus this year is on Croatian animated films with a program Croatia on a visit, which was created in cooperation with the Croatian Audiovisual Center and will be shown partly online and partly in cinemas when possible.
