Aston Martin clearly can't stop – and honestly, no one wants to. After introducing the DBX S and Vantage S this year, the British brand has now revealed the Aston Martin DB12 S, its latest star among sports coupes. The new model is not just a cosmetic upgrade, but a serious injection of power and engineering sophistication, with which Aston Martin aims to prove that it can still push the boundaries between elegance and brutality.
Under the long engine cover Aston Martin DB12 S is hiding 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 (Mercedes origin), which now develops 700 horsepower (691 hp) and 800 Nm of torque (590 lb-ft). That's an extra 20 horses compared to the regular DB12. The result? Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds (0-60 mph in 3.4s) for coupes and 3.5 seconds for convertible Frills. The maximum speed is 325 km/h (202 mph), meaning the driver will sooner run out of courage than the car will run out of breath.
Brakes that even James Bond would envy
The DB12 S comes standard with carbon-ceramic brakes, which saves 27 kilograms (59.5 lb) of weight. At the front, they measure 410mm (16.1 inches), and at the rear 360mm (14.2 inches), and it's all controlled by a new generation of Aston Martin's Cornering Brake Control system - technology that would once have been described as "magic" but is now simply a engineering progress.
Sharpness in the Turns: Mechanical Poetry
The chassis was not overlooked. The engineers recalibrated the throttle and steering wheel, added improved Bilstein DTX shock absorbers, consolidated rear stabilizer and adjusted chassis geometry (camber, castor and toe) for a more precise feel in corners. The DB12 S is a car that wants to talk to the driver – not just shout at them.
Aerodynamics with a touch of British humor
The exterior brings some subtle but decisive changes. Up front is a new double split spoiler, which increases downforce and improves airflow around the wheel arches. The engine cover is adorned with a fresh set ventilation slots (bonnet louvers), available in glossy black or carbon version. But behind reigns fixed spoiler, new diffuser design and four vertically mounted exhaust terminals stainless steel. If you want more drama, you can choose titanium exhaust system, which is 11.7 kilograms lighter (25.8 lb) and 1.5 dB louder – just right to let people know when you've arrived.
Interior: luxury that smells of adrenaline
Inside, Aston continues its signature combination of luxury and sportiness. The cabin offers three different upholstery combinations, all in the mix leather and Alcantara, and in the center stands out red metal button for selecting driving modes – the same shade also adorns the exterior “S” badges. A small detail that acts as a reminder that you have the most polished version of the DB12 in front of you.
The price of exclusivity
Aston Martin will be the new DB12 S offered in heaps and convertible version, and the first deliveries are planned for first quarter 2026Prices are not yet officially known, but given that the base DB12 costs around 230,000 euros ($250,000), we can expect the S tag to surpass 250,000 euros ($275,000).
For those who believe that “enough power” is a real concept, the DB12 S is not the right car. For everyone else, it represents the ideal balance between refined brutality and British confidence – in a style that only a Aston Martin.
