Aston Martin Vanquish Volante (2026): the most beautiful V12 convertible in the world

A V12 without a roof? Sounds like the perfect English romance.

Now the wind in your hair can accompany the roar of 824 "horses." The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is here - the most beautiful, fastest and loudest version of English grace on four wheels.

When the British really want to make something extraordinary – like a luxurious GT with a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine – they do it with indescribable elegance, a bit of humor and a fair bit of exhaust noise. And then, to top it all off, they add a roof. And that's how we get 2026 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, the most dramatic version of an already epic grand tourer that makes no secret of its intentions: pleasure, elegance and loud arrival.

Same engine, more wind

Unlike many “roadsters”, which lose some of their power when the roof is down, the Vanquish Volante retains exactly the same powertrain as the coupe. That means a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine with 824 horsepower (615 kW) and 1,000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque – values that sound almost absurd for a car without a roof. Power goes exclusively to the rear wheels via an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.

Make no mistake – this is not just a “prettier DB11 without a roof”. It is the most powerful front-engined production car, which currently exist.

Accelerations? A little slower, but still brutal

From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) the Vanquish Volante needs 3.4 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds slower from the compartment. The culprit? Additional 95 kg (209 lb), which are added by the folding canvas roof mechanism and additional chassis reinforcements. Nevertheless, it reaches a top speed 344 km/h (214 mph) – so the same as a coupe, which means you can literally drive faster than some light aircraft can fly. That is, if your hair is ready for that kind of experience.

Chassis and brakes: adapted to wind conditions

Aston Martin engineers didn't just saw off the roof. They also reinforced the thing. The chassis, according to the brand, is almost as stiff as the coupe, thanks to Volante-specific suspension settings and Bilstein DTX active shock absorbers. Braking is provided by carbon-ceramic brakes with six-piston calipers at the front and four in the back.

The chassis is complemented by 21-inch Pirelli P Zero tires, whose dimensions ensure that all this torque doesn't disappear into smoke as soon as you press the gas pedal.

Interior: digital elegance with a “cabri” button

The interior of the Volante is almost identical to the coupe: two 10.25-inch digital displays, one for the driver and one for infotainment, premium materials, soft leather, Alcantara… But here's another button: for folding the canvas roof, which opens in a few 14 seconds and that to speed 50 km/h (31 mph). Closing takes place 16 seconds – but why would you even use it? After all, there is also the option titanium exhaust, which sounds best when there is no roof.

A tradition without a roof: the Volante is no newcomer

At Aston Martin is a label Frills a symbol of elegance for more than 60 yearsFrom the legendary DB5 to the modern DBS Superleggera, Volante models have been synonymous with the fusion of sportiness and open-top luxury. And the new Vanquish Volante continues that story in its most extreme form yet.

Adrian Hallmark, Aston Martin's new CEO, says it's "the latest interpretation of the art of the open-top sports car." And it's true - in the photos alone, this car looks like James Bond going on vacation... but he'd take some bad guy with him to overtake.

Conclusion: The most extravagant GT? Almost certainly.

2026 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is a car for those who want everything. Power, elegance, the music of the engine, attention and the wind in your hair. Is it practical? No. Is it sinfully expensive? Very likely. The price is not yet official, but since the coupe costs at least $434,000, Volante will definitely cross limit of 450,000 USD (around 415,000 €)And that's without the Q by Aston Martin personalization, which can add a few hundred thousand.

Isn't that the charm? It's a car you don't need, but you want - like a yacht with four wheels. Or, as the English would say: bloody brilliant.

If you're tempted... hurry. Annual production will be limited to less than 1,000 copies, with production starting in the third quarter of 2025. So you still have time to sell your soul – or your art collection – and make your dream come true on four wheels.

Vanquish Volante: because life is too short for boring cars.
