Australian students have built an electric vehicle that surpasses the Tesla S

Sunswift eVe is the name of the electric vehicle developed entirely by Australian students, which set a new world record for the highest average speed of an electric vehicle on a single battery charge. The record was literally torn from the hands of the famous Elon Musk and his Tesla S.

If the vehicle is left in the strong sun for eight hours, the photovoltaic system is charged enough for two hours of driving.

EVe traveled a lot to achieve the record 500 kilometers (or 310 miles) at an average speed almost 100 km/h – 60 miles per hour. With this, however, Australian students are literally "cut down" already now former Tesla S record, which reached an average speed of 45 miles per hour and proved that even electric vehicles can have a significant range.

Sunswift eVe needs a regular outlet and eight hours to fully charge the batteries again, and on an industrial socket, the charging cycle is shortened to 5 hours.

The special feature of eVe vehicles is represented juicy panels, which are placed on the larger part of the body of the vehicle, which is made of one piece and made of carbon fiber. During the test in which they so obviously defeated Tesla, the aforementioned solar panels were not used, as they wanted exactly the same "playing" conditions. Sunswift eVe is the fifth generation of this model, which is the result of the work and development of students from New South Wales, Australia, and the first generation dates back to 1996. At this university, they are also responsible for the development of the legendary Ivy vehicles, with which they overthrew in 2011 the record for the fastest solar-powered vehicle.

The tab on the scale when the eVe is placed on it shows the good ones 317 kilograms and is able to transport two adultsi. An interesting fact about the weight is that the entire eVe weighs less than the entire battery pack of the Tesla S, for example. It would be interesting to see what Elon Musk would have to say about this.
