Deepwater Horizon is a disaster biopic based on the true events of the oil rig of the same name in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, when the largest oil environmental disaster in American history took place. Whether the filmmakers want to give the disaster a human face and partially erase the black stain from the main culprit, the company BP, which is not mentioned by name in the film, is not known, but the film definitely bets on the heroism of the individual and the power of love, and looks for sympathy from the audience, which may be it also overflows on the connection between the people and BP.
