Self-driving cars have become a topic of everyday conversation, they are so hot. Testing of these cars is legal in more and more places, and practically every car manufacturer is developing its own version. Of course, the German BMW is also among them.
Most manufacturers are at approximately the same stage of self-driving car development, they differ mainly in their marketing approaches. It's hard to gauge who is how far, but something is certain; at Tesla, Chevrolet and BMW are probably the closest to launching these cars on the market.
"Ultimate Passenger Machine” with a degree of autonomy 5 should see the light of day in 2021. Namely, last July at BMW announced a collaboration with Intel and Mobileye that laid the foundation for the development and production of cars.
But what do the levels of autonomy actually mean? At the rate 3 the driver will be able to hand over the steering wheel to the car, at the stage 4 he will no longer have to look at the road and the surroundings and at the step 5, which is also called driver off, the driver would not even need to be in the car, as it will perform all the tasks by itself.
And what might this mean for newborns today? They probably won't have to take a driving test when there would be time for it otherwise.
