Photo: Envato

Greece boasts many beautiful islands and a wonderful historical heritage on the mainland, which attract hordes of tourists during the summer months. So why not avoid the crowds and see the beauty of autumn?

With a low-cost airline Ryanair you can fly to Thessaloniki or Crete for a potato holiday from Venice for an incredibly affordable price. Air ticket prices for Thessaloniki start at 28 euros, and you can fly to Crete for as little as 70 euros. To enter Greece, you need a digital covid certificate indicating either vaccination, recovery or a negative result of a rapid antigen test, which must not be older than 48 hours. Before leaving for Greece, it is necessary to fill out a passenger localization form.

Let's see where you can stay and what you can see in Thessaloniki or Crete.

Thessaloniki

The city, which bears the name Thessaloniki in Greek, is the second largest Greek city. It is located in the northern part of the country by the Termaj Bay. Despite the fact that you will search in vain for the ruins of classical Greek buildings in Thessaloniki, you will come across a lot of remains from the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman times. In addition, the city boasts quite a few sights that belong to the UNESCO world heritage, which earned it the title of European Capital of Culture in 1997.

The Caravan

In the heart of the old town of Thessaloniki you will find charming rooms and suites called Caravan. Only a few steps away from the main street and nightlife, you can stay in the shelter of a beautifully furnished apartment with a beautiful balcony overlooking the surrounding streets. The spacious rooms are imaginatively furnished and boast a flat-screen TV and a wide range of bathroom amenities.

Crete

The cradle of European civilization, Crete, is also the largest Greek island, with a multitude of attractions and activities. The island boasts breathtaking bays, long sandy beaches, as well as secluded lakes. The inhabitants of the island are famous for their exceptional hospitality, and you will also be impressed by the excellent local cuisine. Nature lovers should go to Samaria Canyon, and families with children should go to Balos Lagoon with crystal clear water.

Delina Mountain Resort

A slightly different installation than the ones we are used to. It is not located by the beach, but as much as 910m above sea level. It is extremely popular among tourists looking for luxury with the arrival of authentic Crete. The resort is perfect for anyone who would like to get to know the natural attractions of Crete better, while enjoying a relaxing break with excellent traditional food.
