In collaboration with Xbox, Bang & Olufsen has created its first gaming headphones with active noise cancellation, which will first and foremost impress audiophiles.
The video game industry today generates more annual revenue than the global film market and the North American sports market combined, so it is not surprising that more and more prestigious companies have begun to enter this segment (Herman Miller with its range of toy chairs and Aston Martin with its "sim racing" equipment ). It also follows this trend Bang & Olufsen, which this time transferred its premium materials, minimalist Scandinavian design language and premium sound to its first purpose-built toy headphones.
Headphones Beoplay Portal were designed in collaboration with Xbox and boast a range of features typical of the toy world: integrated Xbox wireless connectivity (2.4 GHz) and several preset game modes including RPG and FPS.
Beoplay Portal boasts up to 24-hour battery autonomy, and they also have flexible active noise cancellation (ANC), connectivity with Bluetooth 5.1, Dolby Atmos and the ability to control by touch. Crafted from a combination of calf leather, aluminum and bamboo textile fibers, the ANC headphones receive sound from custom 40mm electro-dynamic drivers with neodymium magnets. Comfort is provided by the plush padding and the low weight of the headphones (280 grams).
The Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal headphones are now available for pre-order in three color options (black, navy blue, grey) at 499 euros.
