The girl with the balloon is probably the most famous Banksy graffiti that took the internet crazy 15 years ago. But connoisseurs of his work know that there is much more hidden in the collection of satirical and subversive epigraphs that combine humor and criticism. His art has never been closer to our places, as from November 21st, a guided tour of the exhibition in Milan will begin, which will last until March 24th, 2019.
Banksy it is anonymous street artist, political activist and film director from England, whose works dealing with political and social themes are 'exhibited' us streets, walls and bridges of cities around the world. His art began with Bristol's underground scene, where they are created by various artists and musicians.
He creates on publicly visible surfaces graffiti, on which a repeating pattern appears, as this is the only way to avoid intervention more easily of the police, and with these templates he also created a simple language, which is instantly recognizable and endless repeatable. Banksy also created a documentary film Exit Through the Gift Shop, which was nominated for an Oscar in 2011 for best documentary film.
Parts of it are coming this year anonymous artist also in Milan, namely in Mudec museum of culture. With the exhibition they want to introduce the public to the work of the mysterious artist, which in plain language, using communicative and ironic speech, it shows problems, contradictions, big topics of modern reality and invites to think and comparison.
