Bell & Ross celebrates two decades of the iconic square watch with the new Bell & Ross BR-03 Skeleton collection. The three models – Black Ceramic, Skeleton Grey Steel and Lum Ceramic – combine high-tech materials, the new exclusive BR-CAL.328 automatic movement and an uncompromising design that remains true to the brand’s DNA. Prices start at 6,800 euros (approximately 7,300 USD).

In 2005, Bell & Ross presents the BR-01 – a square watch whose shape drew directly from aviation instruments and thus immediately attracted the attention of the avant-garde watchmaking public. Twenty years later, the brand commemorates this turning point with three new Bell & Ross models BR-03 Skeleton, which combine industrial aesthetics with watchmaking transparency.

The BR-03 series is essentially an evolution of the original model: more compact, easier to wear, and with modernized proportions. The new skeleton versions go a step further, highlighting the internal architecture of the movement, which no longer needs to be hidden.

Three faces of the same philosophy

Price: €6,800 (approx. $7,300)

This model most directly reflects the heritage of the BR-01 – matte black ceramic, robust geometry, smoked sapphire crystal and a clearly legible dial with luminescent numerals and hands coated with Super-Luminova. The design remains faithful to the military-instrumental, with modern elegance and timeless utility. It is also the only model in the series that is not a limited edition.

Price: €6,200 (approx. $6,650)

With the metallic texture of the steel case and the airy design of the open dial, this version has a more architectural feel. The faceted indexes and clearly exposed mechanics give a sense of precision reminiscent of modern mechanical sculptures. This is a watch for those who value construction and aesthetics as much as functionality.

Price: €7,000 (approx. $7,500)

Designed for maximum visibility in the dark, the Lum version uses black ceramic and a dial with peripheral elements coated with Super-Luminova C3 – the most luminous material in the brand’s range. The skeleton structure is highlighted with additional lighting drama, making the watch literally glow at night. It is technically demanding, yet visually strikingly pure.

The heart of the new collection: BR-CAL.328

All three versions are powered by a new mechanism BR-CAL.328, an automatic, three-axis movement developed exclusively for Bell & Ross. The visual highlight is the “X”-shaped upper bridges, which are not merely decorative but provide additional structure and symmetry. The mechanism is completely open, allowing the wearer to see every movement and every balance – a perfect fusion of aesthetics and technical perfection.

Housing, materials and durability

All three watches have a 41mm case, the new standard size for the BR-03 collection. While square watches often look larger on the wrist, Bell & Ross has managed to design profiles that are slimmer and better suited to everyday use. The ceramic is lightweight, scratch-resistant and skin-friendly, while the skeleton dial provides visual airiness.

Each watch is equipped with two straps: a classic black rubber strap and a tactical Velcro strap – which further emphasizes the functional and sporty nature of the product.

Why this isn't just a special edition, it's a statement

Skeleton watches are not simply a visual trick. They are a manifesto of precise engineering, watchmaking transparency and design confidence. The Bell & Ross BR-03 Skeleton collection is about a clear message: a watch can be an instrument, a work of art and a statement all at once.

In a world where smartwatches hide their inner workings behind OLED screens, Bell & Ross offers contrast – a mechanical spectacle that you can not only see, but also feel.
