When you think of Bentley, you probably imagine luxury, power and elegance. Well, now you can also imagine an unforgettable sound experience! Imagine driving around in a car that not only looks like a million dollars, but also sounds like a concert hall. Yes, you heard that right (or rather, you will)!
Bentley Batur is a truly special vehicle, boasting as many as 800 unique parts. But that's not all. This car is fitted with a new “Naim for Mulliner” sound system which costs a fortune 31,681 dollars (or £25,000 at today's exchange rate). The system includes six tweeters, nine midrange speakers, two woofers, two active bass transducers and one subwoofer.
For all speed lovers, the Batur is powered by the iconic twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine that produces 740 horsepower (or 740 hp) and 737 pound-feet of torque (or 999.5 Nm). Bentley improved the engine's air intake, intercoolers and turbines to increase power output from the standard 710 hp.
Bentley Batur designed the Bentley with speakers in mind, carefully placing them throughout the cabin. Additional reinforcement around the doors and rear cabin also helped reduce distortion from the sound system. Bentley says the sound system “Naim by Mulliner” expanding their services to offer “truly custom-built vehicles”.
For a bit of historical context, Bentley unveiled Batur a year ago and just finished development in June. They will only produce 18 examples of this $2 million (or £1.65 million) worth of the vehicle, which they build in about four months.
