The Bentley Batur "The Black Rose" is a car that is not just a means of transport, but a statement of style, exclusivity and craftsmanship. It is a special edition of the Batur, a hand-built grand tourer that marks the end of the legendary 6.0-litre W12 engine. The Batur is originally limited to 18 examples, and "The Black Rose Batur" is one of only three right-hand drive cars, making it one of the rarest and most desirable modern Bentleys. The name "The Black Rose" comes from the custom-developed colour scheme, where the deep black Black Rose Metallic bodywork is elegantly interwoven with discreet but noticeable accents in matte rose gold.

The interior of the vehicle is what The Black Rose Batur truly sets it apart from others. Bentley has used additive manufacturing for luxury details for the first time – using 3D printing technology from genuine 18-carat rose gold, they have equipped the drive mode selector switch, traditional organ-shaped air vents and part of the steering wheel. This is one of the first cases where this precious metal has been used in a car in this way, and it was in collaboration with British jewelry company Cooksongold. The gold is not just for looks – each element has been custom-made, with surgical precision, to fit the ergonomics and aesthetics of the vehicle.

The luxury continues in the choice of materials in The Black Rose Batur. The driver and passenger are wrapped in soft black Beluga leather, complemented by dark grey tweed fabric, giving a sense of English aristocratic luxury. All woodwork is covered in a multi-layered Black Rose lacquer, creating a dramatic contrast between light and shadow throughout the interior. Every surface is hand-finished, demonstrating Bentley’s Mulliner sub-brand’s approach to perfection.

The power of a classic: Bentley's solemn tribute to the W12 engine

Beneath the long, elegant bonnet of The Black Rose Batur lies the final chapter of one of the most recognisable engines of the modern era – Bentley’s 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12. In the Batur version, this engine is tuned to an impressive 544kW (740PS) and 1,000Nm of torque. This means that despite its luxury, The Black Rose can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.5 seconds and has a top speed in excess of 320km/h (200mph). All-wheel drive and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission ensure superb stability, comfort and responsiveness – even at high speeds.

The Batur is based on the Continental GT platform, with a completely redesigned exterior design that signals the future of Bentley’s design philosophy. Both the exterior and interior are entirely the work of Mulliner, the department responsible for personalizing the rarest Bentleys. “The Black Rose Batur” is therefore not only a technically perfect car, but also a symbol of the solemn farewell of the legendary engine and the transition to an electrified future.
