Video is becoming more and more important and the equipment with which we can capture a truly exceptional "filmic" picture is becoming more and more accessible. Blackmagic design, following the success of the model it introduced last year with the label 4K - this time presents a larger, or rather greatly improved, next camera, which bears the name 6K. But it's not all about the resolution and the new label. The progress is amazing!
Building on the success of the 4K model it is Blackmagic Design presented by – Pocket Cinema Camera 6K , which has much more than just a higher resolution than its predecessor, which carried the 4K label. The sensor is the latter size Super 35 (similar to APS-C) with resolution 6144x3456 and so it is absolutely bigger from 4/3, found in the predecessor. To simplify will be a transition to Super 35 enabled much better performance at poor light and control over depth of field. And thus the possibility of creation cinematographic images and sides of the effect.
Of course, it offers an improved image quality, 13 dynamic range settings and ISO up to 25,600. On EF To the delight of the vast majority, you can attach standard Canon, Zeiss, Sigma lenses to the "bayonet". Which is more than mega and will tempt many to put their somewhat outdated Canon in a corner, since the latter standard is one of the most widespread. The extremely light construction of the polycarbonate and carbon fiber housing ensures exceptional handling with the camera and resistance at the same time.
Pocket Cinema Camera 6K has an extraordinary diverse connectivity: mini XLR, full-size HDMI, USB-C, DC power, microphone input and headphone output. The camera is largely controlled by the same five-inch touchscreen as the previous 4K model. It can record in different ways, among which we should point out;
50 fps at 6144 x 3456 16:9, 60 fps at 6144 x 2560 2.4:1 or 120 fps at 2.8K 2868 x 1512 17:9.
6K camera is already available and you can order it from the manufacturer or Amazon. The price is calculated 2,250 euros.
