Walls are an artistic stress test for many people. Choosing the right motif, colors, frame and size is often too binding. After all, it is something that will hang in a visible place for months, even years. What if it were possible to change artwork without expensive printing, without cumbersome frames and without the eternal dilemma of "is this really me"? BLOOMIN8 offers exactly that - an E-Ink picture frame - the freedom to let art adapt to you, not the other way around. It is the world's first smart E-Ink frame that displays images in a full color palette, while maintaining the appearance of a real print on paper. It works completely without cables, without screen glare and without constant power consumption.

Until now, we have mostly known color E-Ink displays as a pale imitation LCD-s. A Spectra 6, the technology behind BLOOMIN8 – E-Ink picture frame, opens a new chapter. With a resolution 200 dpi and contrast 30 : 1 The bezel offers a texture, color accuracy, and calmness that ordinary displays simply can't match. The result is a visual experience that truly resembles printed art—not a screen.

BLOOMIN8 is available in three sizes – E-Ink picture frame:

  • 7.3” – ideal for smaller spaces or work areas,
  • 13.3” – classic format for the living room,
  • 28.5” – a central piece that will define the space.

The device does not require constant power supply – a single charge is sufficient for three to four years of operation.

E-Ink Picture Frame: Compatible with IKEA frames, with custom character

The design of BLOOMIN8 is unobtrusive and timeless. The white border is reminiscent of classic passepartout frames, and the device itself fits easily into IKEA RÖDALM frames. This detail is not accidental – the creators wanted the frame to blend into your interior without acting like a piece of technology.

There are no cables, no power connection. Everything works wirelessly, and the battery is hidden inside the frame itself. Visually, BLOOMIN8 remains exactly what it was intended to be – an art object in the form of an E-Ink picture frame.

Complete control without connecting to the cloud

Images are uploaded to the frame locally – via SD cards or an app that also allows wireless transfer over your home network. It is important that no images are sent to the cloud or to developers – everything stays with you, inside your home.

The app also offers the option to use artificial intelligence to create images based on your inspiration. These images are generated online but are not connected to third-party devices.

For more advanced users, there are also REST APIs, which enable the development of additional functionalities – such as displaying weather forecasts, calendars or daily notifications.

A digital frame that doesn't try to be a screen

Over the past decade, we've already seen attempts by tech companies to merge screens and art - Samsung's The Frame, NFT galleries and other digital displays. But BLOOMIN8 is something completely different.

There’s no screen glare, no sense of looking at a “device.” BLOOMIN8 is visually subdued, with an aesthetic that feels more at home in a gallery than a tech fair. The art it displays shifts discreetly and effortlessly—almost imperceptibly, yet ever-present.

With the same ease as changing the wallpaper on your phone, you can now change your wall art – without sacrificing appearance, without compromising on quality.
