The BMW 8 Convertible hides everything we love about the Coupe, with the added advantage of being able to open the roof and reveal its luxurious interior to the world.
About five months after the presentation of the elegant BMW 8 Coupe, we were already presented with its open-top version. BMW 8 Convertible will initially be available in the version M850i xDrive with 4.4-liter In the 8-cylinder engines that have 530 horsepower and 750 newton meters of torque. From 0 to 100 km/h it only needs 0.1 seconds less than the hardtop version, which makes the same acceleration v 3.7 seconds.
In Europe, a diesel version will be available at launch 840d xDrive with 3-liter motorbike, 320 horsepower and 680 newton meters of torque. Both engines will be connected to 8-speed automatic transmission.
The design of the BMW 8 Convertible is almost exactly the same as that of the hardtop. The difference is only in canvas electronic roof. This is put away in the room behind the back seats, and the upper part of this space is covered with the same upholstery as the dashboard and door panels. It needs a roof 15 seconds, to open or close, and we can do this at speed up to 50 km/h. It ensures less wind in the passenger cabin wind deflector, and we can think of it as additional equipment neck warmers, which blow warm air from our seats.
The rest of the technology is the same as in the already presented BMW 8 z extensive list of additional and security equipment. The BMW 8 Convertible will be presented to the public for the first time the end in November at the car show in Moose Angeles.
