The segment of smaller family minivans is an extremely dynamic segment in which BMW has not been present until now. They are coming to this very late, as Mercedes Benz's competition with the B-class has been educating its customers in this class for a long time. However, this type of car concept is extremely well received by buyers of less premium vehicles.
And it was there that the segment of "buyers" of small family minivans really began to grow, and it strategically counts on these buyers as well BMW. So buyers who years ago entered the segment of small family minivans (Ford C-Max, Megan Scenic, Volkswagen Touran) and are now active adults who have taken this type of vehicle into their hearts. Nevertheless, you would step into the premium class with one foot.
If we look at the competition in the segment, we will immediately realize that at BMW they didn't take any risks and experiment, because with the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is by no means a design excess, because judging by the first official photos, the vehicle is absolutely not the most photogenic. Anyone who is familiar with the field of motoring is confused by the extraordinary similarity BMW 2 Series Active Tourer with Mercedes Benz B Class, only this one is absolutely fantastically transparent. Such copying of the concept, as well as design features, in a way seems extremely uncreative, if not a little rude. In any case, it is logical in a way Mercedes-Benz has already sold well over a million B-class vehicles, which was more than a great signal from BMW that it is not necessary to invent something new.
All lovers of good design, however, are thus deprived of something that would clearly set the vehicle apart from the competition. What the BMW brand can do so very well.
BMW and front-wheel drive

BMW 1 Series is an excellent example of a rear-wheel-drive vehicle, which the competition found extremely difficult to catch up to in terms of driving dynamics. Only the Mercedes-Benz A-Class has managed to do this, which with its AMG version surpasses the M-branded 1 Series in many segments.
