BMW X1(2023): new design, iDrive 8 and electrified drives

The third generation of the compact SUV BMW X1 was presented. Only this one brings new technology, a refreshed look and a range of electrified models.

BMW X1 compared to its predecessor, it has grown a bit but kept its basic proportions. The new image brings a more striking appearance, with larger kidney stones and even more noticeable LED headlights. The headlights and taillights are available in full LED technology, and the modified taillights are L-shaped. The narrower rear window creates a more robust look, while the bulging tracks give the car a wide stance.

The interior of the BMW X1 still has room for 5 people, and thanks to the wider width, the driver and passenger have noticeably more shoulder and elbow room. The latest innovation in the cabin is certainly the most up-to-date operating system BMW iDrive 8, which they make up 10.25-inch driver display and 10.7-inch navigation screen on the center console. Both are protected under a single piece of glass. The cell phone compartment allows for an upgrade for wireless charging of electronic devices. A premium sound system will be available for an additional fee Harman Cardon with 12 speakers and an internal camera that can be used to take pictures or monitor the condition of the car via the app.

The engine range of the new BMW X1 generation consists of two plug-in hybrids, two gas stations and two diesel engine. Most can boast standard four-wheel drive xDrive, and the weaker gasoline and weaker diesel versions will be available with the sDrive drive. All engines are connected to the updated 7-speed dual clutch transmission Steptronic.

Vehicles that will be equipped with an option package M Sport Package, will have steering wheel-mounted gear levers and if the driver holds down the left lever for at least a second, this will activate the function Sports Boost. Only this will ensure optimal and maximum acceleration. It will be available for the first time on the X1 model adaptive chassis M. Some models of the third generation BMW X1 are expected to be available in November 2022.
