Skaza will donate part of the funds from the sale of the Bokashi Organko 2 Ocean composter to the non-profit organization Ocean Voyages Institute.
The regular sale of the kitchen composter is starting Bokashi Organko 2 Ocean, which is produced from recycled waste fishing nets. With its latest sustainable innovation, Skaza contributes to cleaner oceans on two levels. The first is the use of material that would otherwise threaten the entire ecosystem by floating freely, and the second is the decision to part of the proceeds from the sale goes to cleaning the oceans. For this purpose, they connected with a non-profit organization Ocean Voyages Institute, which removed more than 100 tons of plastic waste from the Pacific this year alone, setting a new world record.
How is Bokashi Organko 2 Ocean made?
The process begins with the manual collection of fishing nets in ports, from fishermen and in shipyards where older ships are being renovated. The collected nets are ground into fine particles in a special plant, followed by the implementation of fractionation processes. There they are cleaned, depolymerized and additives are added to refresh the material. A processed granulate is created, which is processed into a new product using injection molding machines. This is almost entirely recycled. The certified material can completely compete with new, just-formed crude oil materials, as all its mechanical, chemical and thermal properties have been restored.
Composting for a sustainable lifestyle
Composting is the best way to deal with biological waste, and the composting process with Bokashi Organk and sprinkling of effective microorganisms has many advantages compared to the traditional method. It enables as much as 43 percent better utilization of nutrients, breaks down herbicides and pesticides and is kinder to nature, as it prevents the rotting of biological waste and the subsequent formation of carbon dioxide. All generations of Skaza's kitchen composter turn waste into a high-quality basis for compost, fermentation liquid for plant fertilization and biological drain cleaner, thereby promoting circular management.
A small but important step towards the preservation of our planet can be taken right now, as the Slovenian innovation made from recycled fishing nets is available for regular sale from today on Skazi's websitei.
