With a range of 8,000 nautical miles and a speed that nearly breaks the sound barrier, the Bombardier Global 8000 is officially the new gold standard for private jets. And yes, it includes a shower.
If you've ever worried that you won't make it from Dubai to Los Angeles on time because your private jet isn't fast enough - we have a solution. It's called Bombardier Global 8000...and yes, it's probably faster than your internet.
The latest business jet from the Canadian workshop Bombardier is not only the fastest business jet in the world – it is also the longest-range. With a range of 8,000 nautical miles (that's more than 14,800 kilometers), it can fly almost half the world non-stop. And at speeds of up to Mach 0.94. In translation: it almost goes faster than sound, which they achieved during testing. But don't worry, in everyday use the plane will be a little more "calmer" so you can pour yourself a champagne in peace.
Why is the Global 8000 not just another luxury aircraft?
Because it's not just about the numbers – it's also about the feel. With this model, Bombardier wanted to capture an experience that's somewhere between space tourism and a five-star hotel room. And it seems they've succeeded.
Gravity-defying seats
The plane is equipped with “zero-gravity” Nuage seats, which look like a cross between an Ikea armchair and a NASA machine. They’re designed to keep you from getting lumbago during the 15-hour flight. Each seat has its own ergonomic smart cushion, adjustable backrests, and – of course – heating.
A cabin that hears you (not the other way around)
The cabin control system was developed in collaboration with Lufthansa Technik, meaning you can adjust the lighting, temperature and even the music almost with a glance. If your musical mood takes you from Chopin to Beyoncé, an advanced directional sound system will accompany you - so that your seatmate doesn't hear your inner emotions.
4K cinema and shower at 12,000 meters altitude
Of course, it wouldn't be a VIP jet if it didn't have its own bedroom with a full bed, a 4K screen, ultra-quiet air conditioning, and (wait for it!) a shower. Yes, you can shower over the Atlantic. While you watch Netflix. And eat sushi.
The fastest – and (almost) supersonic
Although the aircraft will be limited to regular use Mach 0.94, Bombardier used a little trick during testing to break this limit in software. With a small “hack” (read: software optimization), they literally sent it into supersonic heights. Although this is not the permitted speed for civilian use, the message is clear: you could if you wanted to.
Who is this machine for?
If you're a Fortune 500 CEO, a tech mogul, an oligarch, or just someone who wants to fly around the world without changing flights, the Global 8000 is your new favorite mode of transportation. Of course, you'll need to have about $78 million on hand. A small detail.
What's next?
The Bombardier Global 8000 is not just a prestigious addition to the sky – it is proof that private flying has entered a new dimension. Not only faster and more comfortable, but also smarter, more technologically advanced and more environmentally efficient than ever before. Although it is still a bit short of the “green plane of the future”, it is a step in the direction where luxury does not only mean golden taps, but also supersonic performance with the soul of a Tesla.
And if that makes your wallet itch – you're not alone. Many people on the Forbes list already have the Global 7500. But now everyone is looking up at the sky and thinking: “Is it time for an upgrade?”
It probably is. If you have a spare 80 million somewhere.
