Borštnik's meeting 2016 will take place between October 14 and 23, 2016 in Maribor and, like every year (for more than 40 years), promises us unforgettable stage experiences. Borštnik's meeting, which is considered the oldest and most prestigious theater festival in Slovenia, attracts the most current domestic and foreign theater creators to its stages every year. Also this year, the prestigious award, the Borštnikov prstan, will be awarded to the selected actress or actor for her/his life's work. A rich cultural program awaits us.
Borštnik's meeting 2016 will take place between October 14 and 23, 2016. Every year, autumn Maribor dresses its stages in a colorful scene and thus becomes a national and international theater center. Borštnik's meeting festival applies to the oldest theater festival on our soil. Its beginnings date back to 1966, when Fran Žižek, then director of Maribor Drama, was the first to organize the Slovenian Theater Week.
In 1970, the festival after Ignacio Borštnik, the founder of artistic theater in Slovenia, was named Borštnik's meeting. Med October 14 and 23 will be in Maribor under the direction of the artistic director Alje Devoted took place Borštnik's meeting 2016. In addition to the rich cultural program, in the framework of which it will be possible to participate in symposia, the staging of international plays, round tables with foreign and domestic creators, and similar events, this year will also be at the center of the action awarding of an important festival prize, the Borštnik ring. The jury will present it to the deserving actor or actress for his/her own life's work.

Various domestic performances will also compete for special prizes, among which the jury will choose the best and reward them. This year's list competition program includes:
