What should I see in Brussels?

The main attraction of the city center of Brussels is Grand Place, a large town square, the center of which is the town hall from the 15th century. The entire square is surrounded by interesting architectural buildings, and on various occasions the square turns into the center of the action. Visit it during the flower fair or at night, when you can admire the interesting lighting of the square. The Old England building is also something special, which has a special place in the history of the Belgian capital. The former commercial building was built at the end of the 19th century, but today it attracts visitors for its unusual facade. There is also an interesting museum with a variety of musical instruments, according to some data there are more than 2,000 of them, all of which have a very special historical value.

Guests can also listen to their sound. On the roof of the building you will find a cafe that promises magnificent views of the city. The architecture is also worth a visit Notre Dame Du Sablon, an exceptional Gothic cathedral, which was only a chapel when it was built in the 14th century. In the following century, it was greatly expanded and enlarged, precisely thanks to the healing properties of the statue of Mary, which was once placed in the chapel. This was escaped by a husband and wife who fled the scene of the crime in a boat.

Also visit while wandering around the city Bozar, the cultural center of the city, where exhibitions, performances and concerts take place. It is located in a beautiful building by the architect Victor Horta, and you can find a variety of interesting cultural events in it. If you're into a more naughty culture, then you'll be impressed by the range of comic art that adorns the walls of houses in Brussels. This is the capital of comic art, precisely thanks to the famous hero Tintin. We also recommend a visit to the Dieweg cemetery, where the artist nicknamed Hergé, the father of the famous Tintin, is buried. The cemetery was full, but an exception was made for it in 1983. Since the cemetery was neglected for many years, nowadays you can admire the variety of plants that have grown over the monuments.

When you get tired of sightseeing, take a seat at the nearby bar and choose from a wide range of beers. In Belgium, you can find thousands of beer brands, and Brussels is the true brewing capital. Join one of the guided beer tours that introduce you to a wide variety of traditional beers. Even before it takes you to the bar, it's worth a look Atomium.
