Ajdovo zrno is a self-service inn in the very center of Ljubljana, not far from Prešern Square. This is definitely not a salad bar, but rather a real sanctuary of healthy and varied flavors. They offer dishes from all over the world that have not lost their authentic taste on the way to us. When we enter the space, we have a view of a large buffet bar, full of dishes that we can prepare and choose according to our wishes, and it offers a large selection of pulses, cooked and fresh vegetables, fried dishes, spices and toppings. You can choose between a small, medium and large bowl, in which you can prepare a salad, as well as a delicious edible bowl - a fried tortilla, where you really eat right up to the last bite. They offer daily lunch and three different daily fresh soups every day. Fresh here is certainly not just an empty word, but rather their guiding principle, as they always make sure that everything is freshly prepared. Buckwheat is the right address for anyone who enjoys world cuisine, as they also prepare Mexican tortillas and Japanese wraps, and Thursday is the day for an Indian food menu. They also cater to the sweet tooth with baklava, hot cherries with ice cream, shakes, frappes and, beware, Hungarian chestnut puree with sweet cream. Students have the opportunity to eat there at a good price, with student vouchers. Nowhere else can we enjoy the Indian rose drink, prepared from rose extract, healthy for the heart, but above all, divine for the taste buds and thus quenching our thirst on hot summer days.
