Ballet: Sleeping Beauty - a magical ballet at SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana

In February 2016, SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana will perform Sleeping Beauty, the famous ballet set to the music of the Russian great Tchaikovsky. Fairytales, romance and magic are the combination with which we can "cuddle up" in the coming month on February 6, 17, 18, 19 and 20 and thus ensure that the wait for spring passes faster.

Vitranc Cup 2016: program of the 55th Vitranc Cup in alpine skiing

The Vitranc Cup 2016 will take place on March 5 and 6, 2016, when giant slalom and slalom will be held in Kranjska Gora. In its 55th edition, the Vitranc Cup is returning to its roots, as a stylized snowman on skis is once again inviting us to Kranjska Gora, which is remembered by the spectators of the first match for the Vitranc Cup in 1961. Last year's victory will be defended on the podkoren slope by the Frenchman Alexis Pinturault and the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen. Tickets are already available.

Planica 2016: program of ski jumps in Planica

Planica 2016 will take place from Thursday, March 17, 2016, when the qualifications will be held, until Sunday, March 20, 2016, when the curtain will fall on the 2015/16 season in ski jumping with an individual competition. The program will be very varied, and the Slovenian jumpers, led by Peter Prevec, with their exceptional performances, are the best possible invitation to Ponce, where a new sports holiday awaits us. Last year in Planica we saw three Slovenian victories and a heartbreaking playoff, and although it seems that this cannot be surpassed in terms of emotional charge, we can expect an unprecedented spectacle in 2016 as well. Exhibition: Picasso in Ljubljana - opus Suite Vollard in the Ajdovščina underpass

The opus entitled Suite Vollard (Vollard suite) is among the most extensive and most frequently mentioned of Picasso's cycles. Complete copies of Vollard's suite are extremely rare today, most of them are kept by the world's most important museums, and many folders were unbound, so that mainly individual sheets appeared on the market later. Until the end of March, the opus will be on display in the Ajdovščina underpass in Ljubljana.

When is winter break 2016?

The 2016 winter holidays for primary and secondary schools will also be held in two parts this year. In 2016, the first to arrive are schoolchildren who go to school in the southeastern part of Slovenia, in Gorenjsko, Goriško, Notranjsko-Krasko, Obalno-Krasko, Osrednjeslovensko, in Zasavje and Kočevje. A week later, schoolchildren from the following regions will have their 2016 winter vacation: Carinthia, Podravska, Pomurska, Savinjska, Spodnjeposavska and other parts of southeastern Slovenia.

Golden Fox 2016 – program 52. Golden Foxes

The Golden Fox 2016 is getting closer, and Alpine skiers will apply for the Golden Fox title on January 30 (VSL) and 31 (SL) 2016. The Slovenian skiing holiday under Pohorje will pass without Tina Maza this time (but only in a competitive sense, as she will be on the track as an expert commentator), which is no reason for us to lack reasons to cheer, as the rest of the Slovenian girls this year showed excellent performances in technical disciplines, so at the 52nd Zlata Lisica we can also hope for top rankings of domestic competitors.
