The 2016 winter holidays for primary and secondary schools will also be held in two parts this year. In 2016, the first to arrive are schoolchildren who go to school in the southeastern part of Slovenia, in Gorenjsko, Goriško, Notranjsko-Krasko, Obalno-Krasko, Osrednjeslovensko, in Zasavje and Kočevje. A week later, schoolchildren from the following regions will have their 2016 winter vacation: Carinthia, Podravska, Pomurska, Savinjska, Spodnjeposavska and other parts of southeastern Slovenia.
All children eagerly wait for the winter holidays every year, and winter vacation 2016 they are no exception. Many parents are planning a vacation together at that time, so it's good to know a little earlier when the vacation starts.

From February 15 to 19, 2016, the 2016 winter vacation will be for all schoolchildren from:
- Gorenje region
- Gorizia region
- Notranjsko-karst region
- Coastal-karst regions
- Central Slovenian regions
- Zasava region
- The municipalities of Ribnica, Sodražica, Loški Potok, Kočevje, Osilnica and Kostel
From February 22 to 26, 2016, the 2016 winter vacation will be for all schoolchildren from:
- Carinthian region
- Podravka region
- Pomur region
- Savin region
- Lower Sava region
