More and more countries are struggling with drinking water shortages and more and more are using enormous amounts of energy to provide drinking water. Fortunately, solutions such as Pipe, a floating sculpture that turns salt water into potable water, are emerging to solve the problem of drinking water scarcity in an ecological way. Pipe is a finalist in the internationally recognized Land Art Generator Initiative (LAGI) competition for aesthetic solutions and clean energy.
After Asia, which Huawei's Honor brand conquered some time ago, it is Europe's turn. And the weapon with which they want to cut off a significant piece of the market pie is the smartphone Honor 8. It is the ideal media tool for the demanding generation of millennials at a price that is a third lower than comparable phones. As the only Slovenian media, we are following the European presentation in Stockholm exclusively for you.
Autonomy of operation or Battery life is the biggest drawback of smart mobile devices. Portable chargers or portable rechargeable batteries (power banks) have filled the charging gap on the go when there are no outlets available. They have become our lifelines when the battery runs out on our phone, tablet or laptop. But what if the portable charger runs out and we are still far from civilization? That's when the Estream portable charger comes into play, a kind of mobile hydroelectric power plant for phone charging that is powered by water flow.
The HP Omen X Desktop is an extremely powerful PC that will cope with all the technological demands of virtual reality, which relies on powerful computers. And this HP Omen Desktop X definitely is. But even more than its hardware, its cube shape impresses.
Did you know that a tat can be more than just a fashion accessory? More than just a fashion statement? The media laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, together with engineers from Microsoft Research, produced temporary gold-silver tattoos that can be used to control mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops.
The pizza chain Pizza Hut has created a cardboard pizza box that has added value. It is also a DJ mixer and controller. The Pizza Hut chain is no stranger to the intersection of technology and food (we were even able to make a projector out of their box), and for its latest project it has teamed up with a company specializing in printed electronics, Novalia. Once you're done, the fun can begin!

Nikon is designing a compact camera that has four lenses! The idea is not entirely new, because last year we already wrote about the Light L16 camera, which has 16 individual lenses built into the housing, which are divided into different groups with different focal lengths (between 35 and 15 mm). In July 2016, the company also successfully raised funds to start production, and now we have discovered that Nikon is also planning something similar, planning a compact camera with four separate lenses and sensors in a single body.
It may look silly, but the Povie (derivative of the acronym POV - Point of View), a phone holder worn around the neck, is actually a very practical thing. It allows you to record scenes in first-person mode (from our perspective), even while moving, freeing up both hands. Similar to if you had a GoPro sports camera on your head. This allows us to experience the moments here and now and not until later, when we watch the recording, because we are not busy looking at the screen and the position of the phone during the recording. Time will tell if the smartphone necklace will follow in the footsteps of the selfie stick.
In September 2016, the luxury fashion house Hugo Boss sends its first Smart Classic collection of smart watches, which it prepared together with HP, to the shelves. It will consist of two men's models, namely in silver (stainless steel) and rose gold, and they will cost 350 euros.
Imagine if there was a robot that would take care of your garden 24 hours a day and do all the gardening work for you - from planting, watering, spraying to removing weeds. Too good to be true, right? It won't hold. Such a robot already exists and it goes by the name of FarmBot Genesis, which could completely change the way we grow fruits and vegetables. It is an innovative open source solution from the American company FarmBot, which brings precision agriculture to the home.
