Guests staying in the Scottish suite The Open Book are given the chance to manage the bookstore on the ground floor during their stay. The apartment is located in the village of Wigtown in Scotland, and an overnight stay for two people costs 35 euros per night. But the rent includes not only hosting in the apartment, free internet and laptop, but also running a bookstore, where you have to do everything a full-time bookseller does and work the same number of hours a week.

Château Louis XIV recently became the most expensive apartment in the world! It was sold to an anonymous buyer from the Middle East for an incredible 301 million US dollars (275 million euros), thus beating the previous record of a penthouse in London (One Hyde Park), which was sold in 2011 for 221 million dollars (192 million euros). Although reminiscent of a 17th century château (the time of the reign of the Sun King aka Louis XIV), the opulent château located on the outskirts of Paris was actually only built in 2011.
Many hostels around the world are known for deviating from established notions of tourist accommodation. A good example is the Slovenian hostel Celica, which is far from the only one famous for its unique concept. Berlin's Generator Hostel also "invented" its own style, using the trompe-l'oeil (French term for "fooling the eye") technique for the interior, an ancient illusionistic technique that confuses the eye.
Those who have already visited the ski resorts in the Alps this year wonder who stole the winter. After 2000, almost all Christmases in Slovenia were green, and 2015 (unfortunately) was no different. A white Christmas has clearly become more than just a thing of the imagination of the past, rather than a reality. But, as said, it is even worse. Alpine ski resorts are also showing a poor image, and some popular destinations are already starting to suffer chronically from a lack of snow. Photos from the field show the price they are paying for the unusually warm weather this year.
