CES 2016: Huawei smartwatch sprinkled with Swarovski crystals

Huawei smart watches are sprinkled with Swarovski crystals.

At CES 2016, alongside the Mate 8 smartphone, Huawei unveiled the Swarovski crystal-encrusted Jewel and Elegant smartwatches designed for women. Until now, smartwatches have been more of a male accessory or rather a toy, but that is changing now. The watches complement the collection of Classic, Active and Elite smartwatches launched by Huawei last year.

Smart watches Huawei Jewel and Elegant are made for women. They are sprinkled with 68 Swarovski Zirconia crystals 1.5 mm thick, arranged around a rose gold-plated frame. They are complemented by a strap made of Italian leather in pearl white and sapphire blue. Elegant is a bit more restrained than Jewel, so they have both 40 different skins for the dial (44 mm, protects it from scratches sapphire crystal), which is the same as the original models, but Huawei added ten more unique feminine designs. Both smartwatches boast the same technical features as their three predecessors, which the Chinese presented at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The Huawei Jewel and Elegant smartwatches are powered by Android Wear, and they are both compatible with the operating system Android like iOS. They display calls, messages, and emails, and can connect to wireless headphones via Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free listening (read: phone). The watch obeys voice commands, which can be used to control music and navigation, and although it is more reminiscent of fashion accessory as a sports partner, with a heart rate monitor and all the listed goodies, it is also a perfect device for running, walking and hiking, not only for business meetings and elegant dinners.
