All of us who follow the YouTube roles of former professional alpine skier Jon Olsson, now a great entrepreneur, know his obsession with speed. That's also why it was interesting to follow the development of Olsson and Bernico Powerboats and their four-year design of the fastest rigid dinghy ever - the "dinghy" C'est Normal 52R Hybrid.
The yacht is made of carbon fiber and powered by two 1,550 horsepower Mercury Racing engines, giving the 52R a top speed of 104.2 knots. The design is in a military style.
So more functional than luxurious, but it does include a double berth cabin, carbon fiber sink, toilet and coffee maker, and four carbon fiber racing seats with Ohlins suspension. Two detachable F1-style carbon fiber steering wheels contain all the essential controls for the boat. Olsson is currently offering the 52R for sale for the very high sum of €3 million.
