Chevrolet California Corvette Concept C10! Ever dreamed of a Corvette becoming a fighter jet on four wheels? GM has made that happen with the new California concept—and without a drop of fuel.

While the British experimented with doors that opened like bird wings on the first Corvette concept, GM's Pasadena, California studio went a step further - they simply removed the entire roof. The result is fully removable one-piece canopy roof, which Chevrolet California Corvette Concept C10 transforms from a closed supercar into a stunning open roadster, made for sunny California roads.

Visually, the car consists of two clearly demarcated layers: the lower one in glowing red hides the technical parts, while the upper one in elegant gray gently embraces the car like a luxurious fashion piece.

Dimensions from the future: Chevrolet California Corvette Concept C10

  • Length: 4,669mm (182.5″)
  • Width: 2,184 mm (86″)
  • Height: 1,051 mm (41.4″) – significantly lower than the standard C8
  • Spacing: 2,767 mm (109″)
  • Rims: 21″ front / 22″ rear
  • Body: Carbon fiber monocoque with aerodynamically designed chassis

This Corvette got the tag C10, which suggests that GM is already thinking a few generations ahead.

Aerodynamics without compromise: Chevrolet California Corvette Concept C10

The most striking feature of the Californian Chevrolet California Corvette Concept C10 is the absence of a classic rear spoiler. Instead, air flows through the bodywork, past the innovative T-shape of the battery pack, and creates traction with the help of a huge diffuser at the rear. Additional stability is provided by active last router, which rises like an airbrake. It looks like the Corvette took tricks from Formula 1 and brought them to the legendary Pacific Coast Highway.

Cockpit or flight deck?

Inside, you'll find a minimalist, sporty racing cockpit, where the seats are attached directly to the car's carbon tub. The steering wheel and pedals adjust to the driver, and information is displayed via an advanced AR (augmented reality) head-up display, which projects ideal driving lines and other key data directly onto the driver's windshield. This conceptual digital minimalism ensures a tidy interior that allows the driver to fully concentrate on driving.

Electricity is the new power

Instead of the classic V8 roar, there's a multi-motor electric powertrain that GM hasn't fully revealed yet. The heart of the concept is a T-shaped battery pack that allows for efficient airflow under the car, but exact figures on power, range, and acceleration remain a mystery. Still, it's clear that the Corvette, if it goes into production, will quickly leap into the top echelon of electric supercars.

Corvette remains a pioneer

The Corvette has been a driving force in innovation since 1953, and now its designers have taken a step into an electric future. This isn’t the first time GM has used Corvette concepts to foreshadow its future – think of the iconic split-window design from 1963 or the mid-engine design of the current-generation C8. The Californian C10 is a new step in this rich heritage of automotive dreams.

Conclusion: An electric future with the wind in your hair

The California Corvette Concept is a fresh, bold, and nostalgic vision of the automotive future. With a stripped-down roof, carbon fiber construction, and advanced AR cockpit, it gives a clear signal of what a Corvette could be in a few decades. While some may miss the sound of a traditional engine, this concept offers a completely new experience of quiet speed that is perfectly suited to the California lifestyle. There is no price yet, as this is just a design study, but the history of the Corvette clearly shows that GM's dreams often come true.
