Volvo marked the 50th anniversary of the development of child transport systems with a prototype of the inflatable child seat of the future.
Swedish Volvo develops a light, inflatable child seat, which can be easily folded, and when stored, it is easy to transfer to a smaller bag or backpack. The concept represents an ideal alternative for parents in need mobile child seat, which takes up as little space as possible when not in use. The seat is half the weight of classic child seats, it also occupies only a third of the space, when it is not filled with air, it is possible fold and store in a small bag. This makes its usefulness much greater, as it is extremely easy to carry, and the seat is convenient when traveling with by taxi, rent-a-car or bus.
It also has a seat function of buoyancy. They used material for the seat drop stitch, known from shipping and aviation industries, which is very strong and can be inflated when subjected to violent pressure. It has a built-in for inflation compressor system, and inflates in less than 40 seconds, and the same pusher also takes care of its emptying. The total weight is less than five kilograms, and the seat is constantly connected via bluetooth, which, among other things, also enables remote control of inflation.
