The world of electric vehicles got a new player – the JiYue 07. It is an electric sedan based on a platform also used by prestigious brands such as Zeekr, Polestar and Volvo. But what does this Chinese trump card, created under the auspices of Baidu and Geely, actually bring? Let's take a closer look at what its minimalist but extremely aerodynamic design hides and what technological magic it offers us.

JiYue 07 is designed on Geely's SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) modular platform, which we already know from the Zeekr, Polestar 4 and Volvo EX90 models. The model boasts a modern Chinese design that has already proven itself at the international level - it won the prestigious Red Dot and iF design awards.

Through its sharp lines and extremely low drag coefficient (0.198 Cd) JiYue 07 it clearly shows that it is focused on aerodynamics. The front part is closed, which allows for minimal air resistance, and the trapezoidal air intake is located at the base of the wings. The lighting graphics are highlighted by an LED strip that connects the two front headlights and hides an extremely futuristic look. Also stand out are the innovative door opening buttons, which are located on the B and C pillars, giving the car a minimalist look.

Space and technology in the cabin

The interior of the JiYue 07 is completely technology oriented. The car measures 4.95 meters in length, which is more than Tesla Model 3 (4.72 m), and boasts a width of 1.99 meters and a height of 1.48 meters. The wheelbase is 3.01 meters, which ensures ample interior space.

The central part of the cabin it's a giant 35.6-inch 6K screen that spans the entire dash, from the driver's side to the passenger's. This screen can be customized by users as one, two or even three screens. In the rear part of the console, there is a smaller screen that allows the passengers in the back seats to control the functions as well. The car includes a "yoke" style steering wheel, which adds to the futuristic driving feel.

Autonomous driving and smart functions

JiYue 07 is equipped with a system Apollo Self Driving (ASD) version 2.0 developed by him Baidu. It is one of the most advanced autonomous systems in the Chinese market. The system is available for a monthly fee of 599 yuan (around £64), but the first few months of use are free. It is possible to pay 4,999 yuan (about £536 / €500) for permanent use.

Electric drive and range

The JiYue 07 is available with a variety of powertrains. Base versions use a single 272-horsepower (200 kW) electric unit, while four-wheel-drive versions have two such motors, developing a combined 544 hp (400 kW). The most impressive figure, however, is the extent of the electric range.

The model is equipped with two battery options. Base models use a capacity lithium-iron-phosphate battery 71.4 kWh, which allows a range of up to 660 kilometers on the Chinese CLTC cycle (which is about 410 miles). More advanced models have a larger capacity battery 100 kWh, which provides a range of up to 880 kilometers (547 miles) in the single-engine version. For all-wheel drive models, the range is estimated at 770 kilometers (478 miles).

Price range and potential arrival on the European market

The JiYue 07 is sold in the Chinese market at a starting price of 215,900 yuan (around £23,000 / €30,000). Although it has not yet been confirmed whether the model will be available on the European market, due to the common platform with Zeekr and Polestar, it can be concluded that adapting the model to European regulations would be relatively easy.

Conclusion: JiYue 07 seems to be a promising addition to the world of electric vehicles, combining technological innovation, advanced design and long range. Built on a proven platform that already supports successful models such as Polestar 4 and Volvo EX90, the JiYue 07 could become an interesting choice for buyers looking for a powerful electric sedan at an affordable price. Bearing in mind that in the EU the 45% will be more expensive due to duties. Although it remains in the Chinese market for now, the global expansion of this model could be watched with great interest. With advanced autonomous driving technology and premium features, the JiYue 07 seems to be paving the way for the future of electric sedans.
