Selected product of the year (Voted Product of the Year – POY) is the world's largest consumer-voted award for innovations, novelties, product changes (products and services). Founded in France in 1987, it currently operates in more than 40 countries around the world with the same purpose: guide consumers to the latest products on the market and reward manufacturers for quality and innovation. The nominated products are then sorted into their own categories, such as food, drink or household care. The winning products are voted through an independent, transparent, nationally representative survey conducted by the research company - Nielsen.
