CIGA Design and Swiss Label Noir expand the successful Blue Planet II series – the new Black Star edition features an extremely deep “black hole” that absorbs an incredible 99.6 % of visible light, priced at approximately €1,900, making it accessible to a wider audience

CIGA Design has taken its Blue Planet watches into the galactic depths in collaboration with Label Noir. The result? CIGA Black Star, which “devours” light in the dark and impresses with cosmic elegance in the light – and all for a reasonable price of around €1,900 (1,980 $).

From planet to void

Zenit watches feature an 8.5mm deep bezel treated with Super Black pigment, which absorbs up to 99.6% of light. It is framed by a spiral galaxy printed with a CMYK gradient and a “polar star” hand that resembles a star compass.

Interior: stellar mechanics

It is powered by a Swiss automatic CD‑04‑S movement with Asynchronous-Follow technology – the outer ring rotates 30°, the inner one 390°, all driven by a “polar star” hand. Frequency 28,800 vph, power reserve 41 h, accuracy +15/–30 s/day.

Materials and comfort

The 46mm diameter case made of DLC-coated titanium (Grade 2) and measuring 15.6mm thick remains comfortable – the integrated lug design helps reduce visual bulk. A black fluororubber strap with a folding clasp and quick release completes the minimalist, monochromatic look.

Luminescence: the contrast between light and dark

Although the dial evokes a black void, a real light show unfolds at night: the “polar star” hand and the hour and minute rings are covered in Super-LumiNova – a phenomenal contrast between black and light.
