In 1985, Citizen revolutionized the world of diving watches with the introduction of the Aqualand. It was the first watch with a built-in electronic depth gauge, allowing divers to monitor their depth directly on their wrist. Now, four decades later, the Aqualand returns in the form of a limited edition that combines nostalgic design with modern technologies.

Design: Retro with a touch of gold – Citizen Promaster Aqualand 40th Anniversary

The new Aqualand JP2008-06E remains true to the original design with a raised depth sensor at 9 o'clock, increasing the diameter of the watch to 50.7 mm (44 mm without the sensor). The stainless steel case has a matte gray finish, complemented by gold details on the bezel, crown, buttons and sensor, reminiscent of the C033 model from the 1980s. The black dial with a sunburst pattern, gold hands and a digital display at 12 o'clock maintain the retro-futuristic look.

Technology: Quartz caliber C520

Inside the watch ticks Citizen's own quartz movement, Caliber C520, which in addition to displaying the time also offers depth measurement, dive time, chronograph, alarm and calendar. The depth gauge tracks the dive in real time, while the ascent rate alarm warns of too rapid ascent, which is crucial for divers' safety. The battery provides approximately two years of operation with an accuracy of ±20 seconds per month.

Strap: Eco-friendly BENEBiOL™

Citizen has chosen BENEBiOL™, a plant-based polyurethane that is resistant to hydrolysis and more environmentally friendly than traditional rubber, for the strap. The accordion design allows for easy adjustment over wetsuits, increasing the watch's usability in real diving conditions.
