Citizen and Honda have joined forces to bring back two icons of the 80s at once. The new Citizen x Honda Prelude Ana-Digi Temp limited edition celebrates the return of the iconic Prelude model, delivering a premium retro techno style that will delight both car enthusiasts and watch collectors.
If you thought the 1980s were a thing of the past, you're sorely mistaken. In a world where nostalgia sells everything from Netflix series to outrageously expensive sneakers, two Japanese giants have decided to give us that raw, raw "tech" feel of the past. Honda is bringing the Prelude back to the road after a 25-year hiatus, and Citizen has pulled its legendary Ana-Digi Temp watch out of mothballs for the occasion. The result? Citizen x Honda Prelude. A digital-analog hybrid that looks like something the main villain in a futuristic 1984 film would wear.
Two icons, one wristwatch
The Citizen Ana-Digi Temp wasn't just a watch; it was a statement of technological supremacy. When it was introduced in 1981, Citizen invested a then-astronomical million dollars in its development. This was a time when microprocessors were still in their infancy, and Citizen crammed a thermometer, a chronograph that measured thousandths of a second, and a perpetual calendar into a small rectangular case. It was the first true wrist computer.

On the other hand, we have the Honda Prelude. The sports coupe that defined a generation of drivers before the Type R took over. The new Honda Prelude for 2026 returns as a sleek hybrid with 200 horsepower and a chassis borrowed from the Civic Type R. The connection between the two brands is natural – both are committed to precision, innovation and that specific Japanese attention to detail. The result is – Citizen x Honda Prelude.
Dashboard energy on your wrist
The new Citizen x Honda Ana-Digi Temp “2026 New Prelude” uses a proven platform with a quartz movement Cal. 8989. The stainless steel case measures a compact 32.5 mm wide and 40.6 mm long, making it ideal for anyone who doesn’t want to wear a “wall clock” on their wrist.
What makes this collaboration special are the details on the dial. The upper part has two analogue sub-dials – one for hours and minutes, the other shaped like a speedometer for seconds. The lower part is occupied by two LCD screens for digital functions. A special treat is the thermometer sensor, which on the original resembled a speaker grille, but here has a honeycomb pattern that directly imitates the front grille of the new Prelude.
Exclusivity that will go away quickly
The watch is available in two color versions. The first is a classic silver with a “panda” dial and blue accents, and the second is an all-black (“stealth”) version that looks extremely modern. Both are equipped with a distinctive metal bracelet that tapers towards the wrist, which further emphasizes the retro look.
But beware – if you want it, you'll have to be quick and have good connections in Japan. The series is limited to a handful 200 pieces per color versionThe watch is being sold exclusively through Honda's official "Fun Shop" in Japan for around 45,000 yen, which works out to around 275 euros. Of course, expect prices to jump quickly on the secondary market as collectors are already whipping out their credit cards.
