We prepared a very special test on the new Ford Fiesta, because we went with it to the Cote d'Azur. We were interested in how comfortably we can overcome long distances with small, city cars, and the fiesta was an excellent candidate. Its 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 88 kW, as well as a sports-oriented chassis and sports seats with excellent lateral grip contributed a large share to the dynamics and comfort on the road. The power of the engine was most evident on the highway, where we easily "competed" with larger cars. If the fiesta had a built-in cruise control, it would be an excellent "machine" for longer journeys. The automatic air conditioning ensured that we were not hot despite the summer temperatures. We put all our luggage in the trunk without any problems, namely two larger suitcases and a few smaller bags. We listened to music from the iPod directly through the Fiesta's audio system (which also supports Bluetooth hands-free telephony), and we were able to control the iPod right through the steering wheel controls. But it was not clear to us why we had to connect the iPod to the USB and AUX IN sockets at the same time. The compact exterior dimensions are even more welcome when searching for parking in the tight streets of Monte Carlo.
