Seat's Altea represents an interesting approach to the minivan. In the event that it also has the abbreviation XL, as our test Altea had, this means more space for luggage and comfort for passengers. An excellent family car with sporty genes was our association when we drove it to the Bavarian capital. The trunk, which can be enlarged by simply folding the rear seats, offers enough space for luggage or sports equipment. The test car also had longitudinal bars for the roof rack installed, but they require special attachments, which will certainly not please wagon owners if they get an Alteo XL. The seats offer comfort even on long journeys, and the front ones also offer enough lateral grip when the dynamic driver in us awakens. The Altea has just the right amount of storage space for both drink bottles and other small items. Controlling the vehicle and accessories is easy, only setting up Bluetooth for hands-free calling required a little more skill, but that happens with most cars. We liked its sporty three-spoke leather multifunction steering wheel, which controls the radio and trip computer. The built-in 1.9-liter turbodiesel engine is not synonymous with power, but it is still powerful enough for easy driving on Autobahn and dynamic cornering on country roads. As for the city experience with the Alteo XL, let's note that it was adequate, and the visibility from the vehicle was more than solid.
