City Magazine - the largest national freebie for the urban population
City Magazine is the largest lifestyle magazine for both sexes. It is free of charge and in the printed edition it achieves an exceptional circulation (50,000 copies) with distribution at more than 510 collection points throughout Slovenia. It has been online since September 2013 with a renewed portal, and during this time it has achieved a leading position among portals in the field of lifestyle topics intended for both sexes. It is also regularly ranked among the 25 most visited Slovenian media according to the MOSS measurement, with a reach of up to 135,000 different Slovenian internet users, which is 10 % of the entire internet population.
The plans for the future are big and go in the direction of excellence and the development of new content. For this reason, we invite an assistant editor to join our ranks.
Editorial expectations
The editorial philosophy of City Magazine is different from the philosophies of classic publishing houses. That's why we don't expect classic profiles, but profiles of collaborators who will build and co-create the City Magazine brand with their energy, enthusiasm and love of creation, impressing the online crowd as well as the crowd of readers of our printed editions. Participation is not conditional on education; we prioritize the individual's desire to work in a specific field that interests them.
Expected skills for working in the editorial office in the position of assistant editor:
- Excellent and impeccable knowledge of the Slovenian language, which will be checked with a test at the interview.
- Excellent knowledge of the City Magazine medium and its style, purpose, sections, etc. At the interview, we expect you to know the medium well and to be able to develop innovative topics yourself.
- CMS: knowledge of working with CMS-systems is not a requirement, but it is desirable to enter articles on the website (WordPress).
- Working in the cloud - Google Drive, word processor Google Docs, spreadsheets, working with cloud solutions and applications.
- Working with photos: editing and corrections, formatting, cropping photos (Photoshop, other solutions).
- Ideas, diligence, precision, innovation and progressiveness.
- Good knowledge of social networks and the administration of social web channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter).
- Driving license.
- Desirable experience in the field of journalism or editing - 2 years.
Way of working: Headquarters of Reformabit, doo, Šmartinska cesta 106, 1000 Ljubljana.
Form of work: Possible regular employment with a trial period or, if desired, another form.
