Fans of the Apple brand have long known and felt that Apple products in Slovenia are among the most expensive in the world. Due to the "specific" situation on the market, Slovenian retailers keep product prices relatively high. That's also why I decided to reveal some tricks with which you can save up to 40 percent when buying an Apple product in times of crisis. Of course, this requires knowledge as well as consumer luck and chasing the right moment of purchase.
Apple products also up to 40 percent cheaper as with Slovenian traders? Sounds like mission impossible! That's also why I'm using a few practical examples to reveal how at the world's largest retailer Amazon with just a few clicks, order your much desired one An Apple product at a better price. At certain times, your savings can be up to 40 percent. It is about extremely simple and on the open European market completely legitimate trading methods known only to skilled and experienced traders, and from now on also to prudent buyers and readers of this record. I have to admit that it will be until 40 percent difficult to come But not impossible, if you are a VAT taxpayer. I also explicitly disclose this in order not to mislead with the title.
Purchases without VAT on Amazon
Slovenian legal entities - liable for VAT they can shop on Amazon.de without VAT - value added tax! If your company registers as a business user on Amazon.de. Registration is quick and easy! With it, you get special business discounts!
The record was created on the basis of mine recent purchase experience when buying a new laptop Macbook Pro 16 (2020) and the latest smartphone model iPhone SE 2 and some other products. In the note, I compare the prices of some Slovenian offers from traders and the prices that I myself calculated for the products at the time of writing this note. I also reveal some "necessities" that are necessary for successful shopping and that unlock certain shopping opportunities, such as Amazon Prime. This is almost essential for regular customers in the largest online store in the world, as it brings a lot of rights, benefits and additional security. If you own a company or are a private individual and taxable person for VAT, I also suggest a business account Amazon Business. With a business account, you get the possibility of an immediate deduction of value added tax and the purchase of a product for its net value, i.e. without VAT (valid for purchases within EU member states).
Amazon Prime
The largest online store in the world is not only that. Is a "repository" books, music, movies … With membership fees on Amazon Prime you get unlimited access to some of the listed digital products, as well as a bunch of benefits on postage and other services. In certain cases, they allow for increased purchase security, such as the possibility of equalizing the price, if the price of the product falls during delivery and you notice it. The membership fee therefore brings quite a lot of benefits, but unfortunately in the case of Slovenia does not yet deliver the product on the same day, or the next day for the amount 1 euro, as is the practice abroad. In any case, it brings quite a few advantages in terms of postage, and it is membership recommended, but not necessarily. It certainly unlocks certain buying opportunities.
Signing in to your Amazon Business account
Purchase without VAT is possible as soon as you open an account Amazon Business and provide a statement or confirmation that you are a taxpayer. Immediately after that, you primarily see the price without of added VAT, and you, as a company, buy the products at their net value. This is certainly welcome for larger equipment purchases, as you make the purchase with less load cash flow.
Checking the price movement (rise - fall) via the Camel, Camel, Camel portal
The price is from the online retailer Amazon it designs just like everywhere else, i.e. on the basis of supply and demand and the "life" cycle of a certain product model. For example, you can check how the price of the last generation of the product has changed in the past and thus plan a purchase at the right moment.
In the result we see that the price of the phone is iPhone XS at the start of sales November 2018 amounted to 1,148 euros and then it slowly fell over time, experiencing the biggest drop when sales of a new generation of phones began, i.e. phones iPhone 11. With this tool, you can therefore "determine" the moment when a certain device is really worth buying. You can tell when the moment is right. Therefore, it is always worth checking at what level"of life” the goal of the product is current price.

Let's go shopping on Amazon
I have a shopping one wish list and jump to Amazon. Personally, in principle, I usually go to the German Amazon. Perhaps out of trust in the "market", even though it is Amazon not really a factor anymore. Most of the products I buy are from Amazon and not from other retailers. But about that in another post.
Shopping list of Apple products 4/2020
– New iPhone SE 2 (2020) – 64GB
– Apple Airpods 2 (without wireless charger)
– Apple Macbook Pro 16, i9 – 1T
New iPhone SE 2020 = 399 $
When a new smartphone arrives iPhone SE 2020 Apple has announced an almost unbelievable price of 399 dollars, which translates to 368.79 euros at the time of writing. This is for a phone that has Apple's latest A13 processor and the current phone's main camera iPhone 11, sounds really damn good. But the devil is in the details. When I checked the price at Slovenian retailers, I found that the phone will be sold for a minimum price of between 510 and 530 euros.
Price comparison:
*The price on Amazon is the price without VAT to which VAT payers are entitled. The price including VAT is 479 euros and represents a 31 euro difference with the price on the Slovenian market.New ones iPhone SE is actually a bad "example" of a bargain purchase. It is a completely new product that is being sold officially begins on the date 24. 4. 2020, and it's actually on pre-sale at the time of this writing. But anyway, since I ordered the product for a test, the comparison of an extremely current product seemed interesting. I was definitely interested in the difference here between the price in Slovenia and price in other markets.
Apple Airpods 2 (without wireless charger) = 159 $
In America, pine trees 159 dollars on regular sale at Apple.com, with us for quite some time 189 euros with a discount of 5 euros, which retailers have been "pinning" lately. Still a pretty expensive piece of equipment. That's also why I set myself the challenge of trying to get the cheapest price. But let's first look at the prices at the dealers.
Price comparison:
*The price on Amazon is the price without VAT to which VAT payers are entitled. The price including VAT is 138.99 euros and represents a difference of at least 40 euros with the price on the Slovenian market.Apple Macbook Pro 16, I9 – 1TB = 2,799 $
Ever since it hit the market a few months ago, I've been nervously squinting in front of the monitor thinking about buying it. This time, they respected the guts to such an extent that I think jumping to the new generation is a wise purchase. But anyway, let's go in order. First, let me reveal to you the configuration of the laptop I am interested in.
Object of desire (specification):
Macbook Pro 16, I9 – 1TB, 16GB RAM, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4GB (it's an entry-level model on apple.com)
Price comparison:
*Amazon price is the price without VAT to which VAT payers are entitled. The price including VAT amounts to 2,884.90 euros and represents a minimum difference of almost 400 euros with the "average" price on the Slovenian market. Not all that glitters is gold... and not all is "40 percent"
Among the current purchases, there is no purchase for which I would subtracted 40 percent less as when buying from Slovenian online retailers. However, we come closest to this amount by buying headphones Apple Airpods 2, on the condition that I choose the Slovenian retailer with the highest price in Slovenia. Here is the difference 38.68 percent and comes close to the difference promised in the title 40 percent. In other words, expressed with deducted money: between 189 euros and 116 euros the difference is considerable, amounting to as much as 73 euros. At the price of this product - a large amount. Again, I wouldn't mislead, and that's also why I have to point out that it's 116 euros price without VAT. But still, the price you pay as a buyer and the price that "willy-nilly" cuts into your pocket. And let's face it, it feels really good to pay less.
I'm not 100% "believer" of the commodity Apple brand. But I'm always on the hunt for "price – performance” purchases. So purchases where I get the most for my money. That's also why, despite the many advantages of buying from our dealers, lately I've always been reaching for the biggest online store in the world - Amazon. The latter is really nice. And when you master it with various benefits programs, it becomes a waste of resources at Slovenian retailers, who unfortunately in many cases set prices extremely uncompetitive and at the same time illogical. But until Slovenian consumers sanction them for this type of activity by redirecting their purchases to more favorable channels, the situation will remain as it is.
Another thing we often forget. Apple products have much better resale value as used products in their categories. They are losing by far least of all. So it is the remainder of the value several times larger than competing products. But that is already the topic of another record. When I get down to it simple proof, that it is actually one of the cheapest brands.
I hope my write-up helped you purchase decisions in the future and that you will save some euros.
