A phone that dares to be different – and for less than 300 euros

The CMF Phone 2 Pro will be officially unveiled on April 28th, but leaks and teasers are already painting a picture of a bold, modular, and surprisingly affordable device that is shaking up the smartphone world.

Nothing – that cool tech brand with a retro-futuristic vibe – is preparing a new attack on the mid-range under its affordable CMF brand. The CMF Phone 2 Pro looks like something Tony Stark would have put together in his early days: modular back, screws, texture, marbled finish… all for a price that sounds more Lidl than Louis Vuitton. And that’s a compliment.

What is the CMF Phone 2 Pro – and why are we interested?

The CMF Phone 2 Pro is the successor to the first CMF Phone, which made a notable entry into the mid-range segment in September 2023. According to leaks and official teasers, the new model is expected to feature an improved design, better components, and the same (read: low) price.

The presentation is scheduled for April 28, 2025, at 6:30 PM Indian time (that's 3:00 PM our time). The event won't be just about phones: we're also expecting new headphones (CMF Buds 2, 2a and 2 Plus). The whole thing will probably look like a keynote at LSD - Nothing.

Modular design: retro and future in one

They went for an “industrial elegance” design. The back of the phone is removable, secured with visible screws (to make you feel like an engineer when changing the cover), and allows for the attachment of accessories like lanyards or mini stands. Teasers hint at silver-gray color with a marbled appearance. This isn't Apple, this is cyberpunk.

NotebookCheck and 91mobiles say the feel in the hand is “textured and crisp,” meaning the phone won’t feel like every other plastic square on the market. And thank goodness for that.

Specifications: mid-range that plays with flagships

Although Nothing hasn't revealed all the cards yet, we have enough leaks to paint a nice picture:

Specification What sources say
Screen 6.7″ AMOLED, 120Hz
Processor MediaTek Dimensity 7400
RAM 6 to 8GB (with virtual add-on)
Storage Up to 256GB UFS 2.2
Battery 5000mAh, 33W or even 50W fast charging
Camera (rear) 50MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP secondary
Camera (front) 32MP, 4K video
OS Android 15 with Nothing OS 3
Resistance IP64 or IP52 (depending on source)

We emphasize: the discrepancies in the data most likely indicate multiple versions (e.g. basic and Pro), as some sources (GSMArena) mention a screen size of only 6.3 inches. However, they unanimously report that it is MediaTek Dimensity 7400 – which is a solid chip for the mid-range.

Price: The best part?

Slowly put down your credit cards – phone should cost less than 22,000 rupees in India, which means less than 245 eurosEven with customs fees, the price is under $300, which is… almost unbelievable for what it offers.

This is clearly part of CMF's strategy: to be cool, unique, and affordable. And if Nothing manages to replicate the success of its previous models, the CMF Phone 2 Pro could be a winner for anyone who doesn't want to spend a fortune on an iPhone but still wants something special.

Why is CMF Phone 2 Pro important?

Because it brings modularity, which is not just a marketing gimmick. Because it offers a style that cannot be confused with any other phoneAnd because for less than 300 euros you get a device that is not afraid of comparison with much more expensive competitors.

And in a world where all phones look the same, the CMF Phone 2 Pro feels like a breath of fresh air – or at least a breath of fresh air with screws and marble.

We are waiting for April 28. Are you too?

Get ready. The event will probably be as stylish as the phone itself. If you're a tech enthusiast, Nothing product enthusiast, or just looking for something different – the CMF Phone 2 Pro is definitely worth checking out.

We'll be following along, and the review will follow right after the presentation. Until then... screws up, marble on!
