AWOLNATION he is the front man Aaron Bruno formed in 2009. Before forming Awolnation, he sang in a number of bands including Giants, Hometown Hero and Insurgence.
The retreat to solo projects allowed Aaron to finally assert his creative control and make his music more personal. The name Awolnation comes from Aaron's high school nickname: "awol" is military slang for "absent without ordered leave", because he usually did not even say goodbye to people, but left without saying a word.
His debut Megalithic Symphony was released in March 2011 on Red Bull Records. A song Sail immediately became a global hit and took tenth place on the US Billboard Rock Songs chart. Among other things, it achieved platinum status in the United States and six-times platinum status in Canada. The song is memorable for its melodic twists, and the unofficial video has been viewed by more than 150 million people on YouTube.
