Reykjavík electronic band GusGus is coming to Porgy & Bess in Vienna on December 5th.
There are not many famous artists that come from of Iceland, maybe it's because they're small, or maybe it's because their emphasis on live music is less than other nations, but with the Reykjaví group GusGus they certainly repay well. A group that has recorded incredible since 1995 nine studio albums, entered the world of electronic music much earlier than today's mainstream DJs, producers and artists. This early appearance and original music gave them a good place that attracted the media and them placed in popular culture. Although quite a few members have changed, they have remained strong in their music and this has only brought them more originality, as no two performances are the same.
Although it is mainly dominated by electronics and techno with some house influences, they experiment with different genres and create excellent dance compositions. They have already invited to participate Björk, Depeche Mode, Moloko and Sigur Rós.
Fun fact: their name comes from a German film Angst essen Seele auf (Fear Eats the Soul) directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder from 1974, where the female protagonist prepares couscous for her lover and pronounces GusGus.
The ticket price is 30 euros, you can buy it at the concert venue.
