Concert: New York trio Interpol in Belgrade and Vienna

If six years ago we enjoyed the first concert of the popular American post-punk band Interpol in Križanke, this time we will have to go to Belgrade or Vienna. The New York trio is coming there in August, on the wings of the Turn On The Bright Lights tour, with which they celebrate the 15th anniversary of the release of the album of the same name. They promise to play the entire album on tour - back and forth.

Music band Interpol, the main New York exponents of post-punk, was introduced to the public in 2002 with the debut album Turn On The Bright Lights. They impressed both the general public and the critics - they were immediately compared to Echo & The Bunnymen, Joy Division, The Chameleons and even The Smiths. This was followed by two albums Antics (2004) and Our Love to Admire (2007), who made Interpol one of the most popular indie rock bands.

A slightly worse album Interpol (2010) was formed without bassist Carlos Dengler and rumors began to surface that the band would break up. But that was not the case - they went on tour with a substitute bassist and stopped in 2011 in Ljubljana's Križanke.
Last studio album El Pintor was released in 2014, and the responses to it were very positive. It's obvious that Interpol did it with this album returned to the old ways of glory, in their most fruitful years, and the band thus began to sail towards a brighter future. In January of this year, they announced that next year a new album awaits, but for now we will have to be content 'only' with the tour Turn On The Bright Lights, with which they pay tribute to their debut. August 10 we will witness them in Vienna, August 13 and in Belgrade in Kalemegdan, Belgrade's largest park.
