Irish music cat and soul singer Van Morrison (or Van the Man to his fans), whose live concerts are described as mystical and trance-like journeys through his musical heritage, is coming to Vienna's Stadthalle on June 8.
Van Morrison, who was born on August 31, 1945 in Ireland, started playing music professionally at a young age. He played accordion, guitar, keyboards and saxophone in various bands. In 1967, he started his solo career with a song Brown Eyed Girl. He concluded contracts with Warner Bros Records for the recording of albums, which today comprise a total of 360 tracks. With the album Moondance (1970) Van Morrison established himself as a respected musician and throughout the 1970s he only built on his reputation with a series of critically acclaimed albums and live concerts. He is still recording songs, touring and collaborating with other musicians. He was awarded with six Grammys and a Brit Award for his outstanding contribution to music, and is also found in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame.

On his 35th studio album Duets: Re-Working the Catalog (2015) Van Morrison collected sixteen tracks from his vast musical collection and recorded it with the extraordinary American vocalist and Grammy Award winner Michael Bublé. The duets album features, in addition to Bublé, Mark Knopfler, Natalie Cole, Joss Stone and other outstanding musicians, including Morrison's daughter Shana Morrison.
