With his first studio album, Yann Tiersen won over the creators and viewers of the film Amélie, and with his last, eighth disc with the simple but meaningful title ∞ (Infinity), he returns to Kino Šiška with a concert on February 21, 2015.
Yann Tiersen he leaves traces of his magical musical instruments – guitar, violin, piano, accordion and others – in both the music and film worlds. If we don't know him for his now eight studio albums, he anchored himself in our memory with his music in a French film hit Amelie. It actually happened that the music of his first album so impressed the filmmakers that they used it.
Anyway, Yann Tiersen doesn't consider himself a (film) composer, but a music creator and multi-instrumentalist, which with the last studio album ∞ after four years since the sold-out concert as part of the tour, he returns to the scene of the crime, v Cinema Šiška.
The musical path of the Breton musician is divided between writing music, collaborations with other artists and film accompaniment. Yann Tiersen is indeed a talented creator who trained himself to play the piano and violin as a child, and later he also got to know punk and the percussive sounds of the guitar. As he says, he likes the simplicity and fun of music, turning the knobs and making all kinds of sounds, from screams to noises.
It is with his latest album, which he released last year, that he returns to his roots, creating noise with toy instruments, as he did in his earlier works. It promises to be a very pleasant evening with the unencumbered music of Yann Tiersen, who will touch those who are open to the inspiring, free and emotionally colored concept of his creation the most with his view of music and with infinity.
