The new production on the country's most prestigious stage is a story of weight loss, cancan, the glow of the night, music, and last but not least, Paris when we imagine it in the best light or when we see it on the posters of the famous Toulouse-Lautrec. The listed elements instantly brought fame to the ballet, especially to composer Léo Delibes. It is about a highly trained composer who knew how to use all the possibilities of the orchestra to draw us into an entertaining ballet work in the direction of a musical. On stage we will meet the inventor Copellius' doll, designed for dancing and so real that it haunts the village shepherd Franz. Because of the doll, the hero neglects his true love, Swanhilda. During the city festival, young couples prepare to get married, but the preparations are complicated when Franz devotes himself to Copella, the doll on the terrace of his inventor, instead of the real bride. Due to different motives, both Svanhilda and Franz decide to enter the home of the mysterious inventor. Here, Svanhilda saves her groom from the doctor's spell when she disguises herself as a doll and pretends that it has finally come to life. In the end, of course, there is a wedding, when the city mayor also intervenes in the situation and rewards the young couple with money. As expected, the wedding ends in an almost ecstatic dance, as the couple rediscovers love, the inventor realizes with the help of money that life is above technology, and the town is filled with festive spirit and the sounds of new bells. All the simple loveliness and likability of ballet excess is the reason why Copellia is among the most frequently performed ballet works on stages today.
