CORONAVIRUS: 16 concrete measures that everyone can take to contain the coronavirus

The arrival of the coronavirus has caused fear. But fear is a condition for survival. Because of him, we are able to change. And this time society has to change. There is no need to panic, but consistency and strict adherence to instructions are necessary for these types of infections. If we ignore this, the virus will spread even faster and it will be even more difficult to contain it! There is also a lot in our habits, which this time we have to change practically overnight. Let's become absolutely responsible to society. By adopting these measures, we will keep our health, and work and society will soon return to normal.

At the time this article is being written, 96 cases of infection have been officially confirmed in Slovenia, and the number is certainly higher. So it is up to us how well we manage to contain new infections. Both the competent institutions and ourselves can contribute to keeping the number of patients as low as possible. We can do that by following some basic guidelines, which we have heard many times these days. You know how the saying goes: practice makes perfect if the master practices.

1. HYGIENE OF COUGH AND SNOWING

Absolute cough and snort hygiene, without exception. Do not touch eyes, nose and mouth._

2. DISTANCE one and a half meters

The recommended distance between individuals, which applies to all public spaces, is one and a half meters. We don't stand in groups, we don't push each other and we don't touch others. This also applies to queues in shops and at checkouts. Keep a distance of at least a meter and a half. The same applies to all other places where many people gather (post office, bank...)._

3. DO NOT stay IN PUBLIC PLACES

Do not visit public places, such as bars, fitness centers and cinemas, or places where several people stay at the same time._

4. NO ASSOCIATION

Don't stay in groups. Do not visit at home. Do not host parties or other gatherings._

5. INDIVIDUAL PURCHASES

Go shopping individually and not in pairs. It is recommended that purchases are made no more than once a week. It will be even better if you buy food for 14 days._

6. USE OF PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

If we have protective means, we use them (gloves, masks). Use them correctly and in accordance with the recommendations of experts._

7. SUPPLY OF MEDICINES for 30 DAYS

If you are a chronic patient, make sure you have at least a 30-day supply of your prescribed medications. Write to your personal doctor for an electronic prescription. Do NOT go to the health center! If it is urgent - call earlier.

8. WHILE YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS!

In case of any symptoms, such as fever, cough, snoring, call your personal doctor. If possible, if symptoms are recognized, immediately isolate yourself from those closest to you. Alone, unaccompanied, after consultation with a personal physician, go to one of the reception points to collect the swab. If you have a mask or other protective equipment, use them now._

9. WORK FROM HOME

If possible, work from home._

10. MEETINGS ARE VIDEO CALLS

Conduct meetings via video calls and other tools._

11. THE CHILDREN ARE NOT WITH THE GRANDPARENTS

Do not leave the child in the care of grandparents. Children often survive the coronavirus infection as a mild cold. The disease, however, is not expressed or detected. Older people and chronic patients are especially susceptible to the more severe form of the coronavirus._

12. NO PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Don't use public transport. It is extremely difficult to take care of the hygiene of buses and trains and they can be a source of infection._

13. NO TRAVEL

Do not travel abroad. Cancel both business and personal trips._

14. DISINFECTION OF PERSONAL ITEMS

Disinfect all personal items that you hold in your hands on a daily basis, or those that you come into contact with. These are phones, keyboards, keys, and objects that we often touch._

15. NEIGHBORHOOD HELP AND SOLIDARITY

Arrange in advance with your neighbor or friends to arrange logistical supplies for you during the days of possible quarantine with the necessary necessities that may be sent to you._

16. ABSOLUTE COMPLIANCE WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE MEDICAL STAFF AND RESPECTFUL ATTITUDE

We do not allow ourselves to ignore the recommendations of medical staff and experts. Let's have an absolutely respectful attitude. These days, they need our kindness and positivity, and thus also help._
