The imagination of car designers knows no bounds - well, engineers and financiers put them on the real ground when they try to tell them that such a design is not technically possible or that it is too expensive for serial production. Mercedes designers have thus prepared a very special Shooting Break concept for the international car show Auto China 2010, which continues the evolution of the four-door CLS coupe. The concept presented in China thus combines coupe genes with a station wagon. The front part of the car was redesigned, but they kept the Mercedes elements that are most reminiscent of the SLS AMG – for example, the radiator grille with a giant three-pointed star. The light fixtures are entirely made in LED technology. The interior is prestigious, dominated by natural materials such as wood and leather. Inside, the views are captured by the center console, which stretches through the entire car, to the rear seats – the car is otherwise a purebred four-seater – and behind which continues the spacious trunk with a wooden floor and aluminum protective strips. Under the hood of the concept is a 225-kilowatt V6 gasoline engine with a volume of 3.5 liters and built-in state-of-the-art injectors, which enable even more precise dosing of fuel into the combustion chamber. The start-stop function is of course built-in.
