"Your smile is like your personal business card. But did you know that your teeth may be doing a little more than just smiling? Dr. John Hewitt reveals what your teeth really think about your diet.

We all love good food and drink. And while we enjoy our morning coffee or afternoon fruit juice, we may not realize that our teeth may not be sharing our love. dr. John Hewitt, a renowned dentist, revealed a list of the best and worst foods for our smile. And some of them may surprise you… or not!”

Your smile is your calling card. And who doesn't want a radiant smile? But some foods and drinks that we regularly consume may not be the best for our teeth. The main culprit? Sugar and acidity. (And no, it's not just your beloved coffee!)

When we consume acidic products such as fruit juices, our tooth enamel temporarily softens. dr. Hewitt explains that acidic foods and drinks change the pH balance in the mouth. And what is most shocking? After consuming an acidic drink, it takes as long as 45 minutes for the mouth to return to a neutral pH. (Yes, that's longer than waiting for a bus in the rain!)

And what about our beloved coffee? Many of us cannot start our day without it. But the caffeine and acidity in coffee can damage tooth enamel. (So maybe it's time to start adding a little milk?)

But don't worry, it's not all bad! dr. Hewitt also has some tips for a healthy smile. For healthy teeth, he recommends foods such as plain yogurt, cheese and milk. These dishes are rich in calcium and protein, which are essential for the strength and health of your teeth. (And yes, chocolate is not on the list. Sorry.)”

What has the biggest impact on tooth discoloration?

Many people wonder why their teeth are stained. Well, there are other factors besides coffee being the obvious culprit. Red wine, tea, cola drinks and even some medications can stain your teeth. Smoking is also a big culprit for yellow teeth. So, while coffee is often blamed, it's not the only one on the list. (Maybe it's time to start thinking about teeth whitening?)

At the end of the day, your smile is a reflection of your health care. So choose your food wisely and smile at the world with confidence! (And maybe with a little less coffee.)
