Fairytale coastal towns, beautiful seaside promenades, countless opportunities for active leisure time and beautiful sunsets. Delicious cuisine that caresses our taste buds accompanied by an excellent drop of wine. All this is Istria.

Istria is not just a destination for summer vacations, far from it. It is a destination for all seasons, as it offers the opportunity to calm down and relax in the winter months, and in the summer to socialize and surrender to the sun's rays. Its advantages and beauty have also been recognized by an American travel magazine Ultratravel, who named Istria as one of the eight destinations that must be visited in 2022.

Istria was unnoticed by tourists for a long time

The experts also included in the selection Cape Town, Hong Kong, New York, Kyushu Island in Japan, Valencia, Oslo and Nashville. And what makes Istria one of the top destinations this year? According to author Lauren Ho, it is an area that has only recently come onto the radar of world tourists, who previously only discovered Dalmatia and Dubrovnik. She pointed out that Istria is known for its mysterious towns on the coast and in the hinterland, delicious gastronomic offer and beautiful cycling routes.

Pula, Rovinj, Brijoni, Poreč, Novigrad,...

Istria is far from suitable only for the summer months, when its beaches are filled with foreign and domestic tourists. Its tranquility is especially attractive in the winter months, while on the streets of Istrian towns we meet only locals. It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful towns in Istria Rovinj, with cute narrow streets, colorful houses and an excellent culinary offer. In fact, there are two restaurants with a Michelin star in the city, Monte and Agli Amici. The surroundings of the city also offer a variety of activities, including wonderful opportunities for cycling on the nearby roads or climbing in the Lim channel.

When visiting Istria, drive to Poole, the cultural center of the region, dominated by the large Pula arena. It is also worth visiting in winter, when there are no crowds of tourists around the Roman amphitheater, and you can always find a spot in the sun in the nearby cafes. Pula can also boast of a lot of beautiful beaches, but you can discover the most beautiful ones on Cape Kamenjak, a few kilometers from the city. We also recommend a visit Brijonov, Tito's former holiday residence and a small fishing town Pheasants.
